Following the Lord

Scripture: Exodus 13:21-22
And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.

Observation:
The Lord has finally got Pharaoh to see reason and the children of Israel get to leave Egypt. God is leading the way via a cloud in the day and fire at night. He will not leave them.

Application:
I find it interesting that God is personally taking on this task. He is personally leading them out of Egypt. He isn't using Moses here, It's God. They didn't have to hunt for God. God was right in front of them, all they had to do was look up and follow. How easy the Lord made it for them to follow Him. He makes it easy for me to follow Him too, all I have to do is take my focus off of me and start placing it on Him, then I will be able to see clearly and be able to follow where he leads.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank you for leading me. Help me keep my focus on You so that I will be able to follow where you lead. In Jesus Name Amen.
